What’s the best shampoo for damaged curly hair?

Question by nycgirl29: What’s the best shampoo for damaged curly hair?
I have naturally curly hair & it’s pretty damaged. I’m obsessed with my hair and my mom thinks im pretty crazy for spending money on hair products when i have “beautiful” hair. I’ve used pantene in the past and i’m currently trying something new and using treseme.

what other shampoo, conditioner and hair care products could i get for damaged curly hair? an affordable brand if possible, but if there are some salon brands that really work i’d like to hear about them too. thanks! :)

I would say try wen… It doesn’t have sulfate which damages your hair. It doesn’t strip your hair of natural oils leaving your hair very healthy and glossy:) Hoped that helped:)

Can a 13 year old get the keratin hair treatment?

Question by Broadwaygirl22: Can a 13 year old get the keratin hair treatment?
My daughter keeps begging me to get the Keratin hair treatment. It is apparently a natural straightening technique. Anyone know if it is safe for younger kids?

Best answer:

Answer by Yeee !
Yup! I have it myself actually and im 15. It has so far been fantastic since ive gotten it recently! It is safe for pretty much any age. It was well worth the money and much easier. I must warn you it is still a chemical, although it does strengthen, smooth and soften hair. When i had it don’t the smell was so strong i had to cover my face with a cloth because it the scent burnt my eyes and made them water. So it is a strong chemical. It does need some maintenance. you need a good shampoo, such as keratin shampoo and conditioner made for the treatment or another really good salon brand will do, mind you these products are not cheap. You also need to wash your hair out after you go in slat water or chlorine right after. You also cannot over wash your hair, or it will wear it down. I love my hair treatment so far and it is very low maintenance. Mind you if she has super curly hair, it will NOT make it pin straight if you let it dry naturally. I don’t know about softer less frizzy curls though, but i guess it will have a suttle wave. I hope this helps! Good luck!

What do you know about the Keratin hair treatment?

Question by Lilia: What do you know about the Keratin hair treatment?
I have extremely thick, long and super curly hair! It’s a nightmare, and I can never wear it out without looking like a lion, even on a good hair day! My dream is to be able to wear my hair down and have it look great! I’m interested in the keratin hair treatment, but I’m not entirely sure what happens. I know it’s good for straightening your hair, but how does it look ‘natural’?

Answer by shellzy_girl
Hi :) My friend is a hairdresser and we have recently had a biiiiiiigggg conversation about this “wonder” product. She swears buy it. The one she uses in her salon is natural and wears off the hair in 3-5 months, so the hair isnt 100% poker straight bbbbuttt still straight. There is also a New Zealand made product which you would google which is an at home product which has rave reviews. When you have the salon treatment done (the one I know about – there may be others) the hair is washed wth a clarifying shampoo and dried to 80%, then the keratin “solution” is left on for about 20 minutes… dried off further and then straightened with a hair straightner not GHD, has to be one with a higher heat setting….. then you dont wash your hair for 3 days and then you wash it that time with suphur free shampoo. For best resukts you are advised not to wear your hair in a pony tail til after the first wash…… you need care products for home use. Hope this helps :)
